Minivans

To adapt a minivan vehicle for Paratransit use, the floor of the vehicle is lowered 10-12". This conversion can be done in either a side or rear entry model and several floor plans and seating arrangements are possible. The result of this modification provides a vehicle that has an ADA entry height of 56" and an interior height of 57-58". Because the floor has been lowered a lift is no longer required and a ramp is installed in its place. Staff can easily wheel a passenger up the ramp and secure them in position. Originally designed for consumer use, many automatic features are available such as automatic doors, ramp and "kneeling."

On the inside of the vehicle, there is room for up to two wheelchairs, a driver and one additional staff member.
